The AARC has been made possible by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration Workforce Innovation and Oppertunity Act, P.L. 113-28 grant number MI-35528-20-60-A-47. Working with the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), the U.S. Department of Labor has made the purchase of the equipment and necessary training possible.
The University of Memphis is the lead institution for the grant and Dr. Kevin Berisso is the principle investigator.
The subawardees are:
- Southwest Tenneessee Community College (Dr. Aaron Jagers is the coordinator)
- The Greater Memphis Chamber (Ms. Sondra Howell is the coordinator)
- The Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce (Mr. Alan Gumbel is the coordinator)
The goal of this grant is to create economic prosperity and gainful employment opportunities for eligible residents in impacted ARC and DRA regions, enabling them to remain and thrive in these communities.
The entire team would like to thank the U.S. Department of Labor and the Delta Regional Authority for making this effort possible.
