The Advancement Office supports the Southwest Tennessee Community College Foundation, a 501(C)3 nonprofit, through fundraising activities, grant writing, funds management and student relations. Advancement staff distribute book, tuition, and emergency scholarships that help students overcome financial challenges that threaten their ability to persist to completion. This life-changing support is possible through generous donations from alumni and community and government supporters and partners. The Foundation also provides funds that support Southwest programs, projects, scholarships and endowments that secure Southwest’s future.

Government Relations is the institution-wide hub for public policy and community initiatives. The government relations executive director serves as the College’s official liaison with local, state and federal legislative representatives and community agencies and fosters relationships with policy-makers and other constituents who support and impact the College’s mission.

The Grants Office performs research and prepares and monitors grants that align with the College’s mission and strategic imperatives. The office develops and executes a Pursuit of Grants Plan to garner fiscal and human resources to support program development and  delivery. The office also provides grant funding awareness and oversees the administration and compliance of grant awards.
