Southwest Tennessee Community College has closed rooms 115 and 202 in Academic Building A on the Macon Cove Campus for sanitation following a reported case of covid-19.  In addition, Room 125 in the Allied Health Building on the Union Avenue Campus is closed for sanitation. The rooms were identified as visited by an individual who submitted a report of a positive covid-19 test. The areas will reopen for operations Thursday, September  24.

The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building will remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected area in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

Southwest is performing contact tracing and notifying individuals who may have been in contact with the individual who tested positive for covid-19.

All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for COVID-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information will be kept strictly confidential.

Please review the College's infectious disease policy and stay tuned for updates via email and on the College’s coronavirus website at www.southwest.tn.edu/coronavirus.
