(Memphis, Tenn.) - Wished you had finished your college degree? Maybe you are looking to gain new skills to advance in the workplace but worried about the cost of college.
Southwest Tennessee Community College can help you fulfill your lifelong dream of a college credential through Tennessee Reconnect, the state’s last-dollar scholarship that provides tuition-free assistance to eligible adult learners ready to earn a first-time degree or certificate at a community college or technical college.
You can learn more about Tennessee Reconnect at Southwest’s free information session and roundtable on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, 10 AM – 12 Noon, at its Whitehaven Center, 1234 Finley Road in Memphis.
Participants will be able to learn how to apply for the scholarship, explore Southwest’s programs and student services and talk with Tennessee Reconnectors about their student experience.
The Reconnect program was announced in 2017 by Haslam, three-years after he unveiled Tennessee Promise for high school graduates. Both are part of the state’s higher education Drive to 55 initiative, launched in 2013 with the goal of getting 55 percent of working-age Tennesseans to complete a college education by 2025.
