Four Lady Saluqi softball players honored as All-America Scholar-Athletes

Southwest softball players Lauren Pettie, Mariah Morgan, Cailey Robbins, and Ashley Aldridge were honored as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athletes. 

Congratulations to Lauren, Mariah, Cailey, and Ashley!

To qualify, each player needed to achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average for the 2023-2024 academic year. All four of these sophomores are repeat recipients of the award.

Maleyia Prather, a sophomore outfielder from Ripley High School in Ripley, Tennessee, was selected to the All-Tennessee Community College Athletic Association second team in a vote by the conference's coaches. Maleyia, who was among the TCCAA leaders, ranked second on the team this spring with a .395 batting average and led the team with 11 home runs, 60 runs batted in, 118 total bases, and a .621 slugging average. In addition, she finished her career ranking high on the Lady Saluqis' career charts with 128 hits, 16 home runs and 92 runs batted in.

WES BUTLER VOTED SECOND TEAM ALL-TCCAA BASEBALL

WES BUTLER VOTED SECOND TEAM ALL-TCCAA BASEBALL
 
Wes Butler, a sophomore pitcher from Michie, Tennessee, and Adamsville High School, was selected to the All-Tennessee Community College Athletic Association second team in a vote by the conference's coaches. Wes posted a 5-3 record this spring with a 3.41 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 37 innings of work. He led the Saluqis with 20 pitching appearances and led the entire conference with six saves. In addition to saves, he also ranks among the Saluqis' all-time career leaders with 32 pitching appearances.
