Southwest Tennessee Community College celebrated Nursing students during a Pinning Ceremony at the Macon Cove Campus on Dec. 13.

Keynote speakers delivered inspiring remarks, congratulating the students on completing the rigorous Nursing program and offering valuable advice as they embark on their professional journeys.

Michelle Jones, Coordinator of Nursing at Southwest, congratulated the students on their hard work and determination while completing the Nursing program’s rigorous coursework.

“Perseverance is defined as the continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failures, or oppositions,” Jones said. “I want you all to know that when you look at one another that is what you see. Perseverance.”

During the ceremony, the Nursing graduates were presented with pins, lit ceremonial candles, and recited the Nurses' Pledge to solidify their commitment to patient care and the Nursing field.

“We have a will to be great nurses, so we shall be. There will be times when we might feel scared, lost or unprepared, but this Nursing program has equipped us to keep going through those moments,” said Allyson Miller Harrison, student nursing government association president, during her Class Speech. “We will keep working hard, keep educating ourselves, and will push through all of life’s difficult moments. I have no doubt that every single person being pinned today will go on to be beacons of light within the Nursing field.”

Congratulations to our Registered Nursing Class of 2024 graduates! We are so proud of you!
