Dr. Jose E. da Silva Chosen as New Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management
Dr. Jose E. da Silva has been selected as Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management.
Dr. da Silva brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in
higher education, with a particular focus on increasing access and enhancing student
success.
Dr. da Silva has worked in four different higher education systems across the country—Washington, Texas, Illinois, and Florida. Most recently, he served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at the University of North Texas at Dallas, where he led a team of 96 full-time staff members and managed a budget of over $25 million. He has also held leadership positions as the Chief Student Affairs Officer at Kankakee Community College, Big Bend Community College, and Walla Walla Community College.
In addition to his professional roles, Dr. da Silva has contributed to the academic field by publishing book reviews, a novel about community colleges, and teaching community college courses. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with a focus on community college leadership from the University of North Texas, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis on Student Affairs, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Florida State University. Dr. da Silva is also a proud community college graduate, having earned his associate’s degree from Tallahassee Community College.
Dr. da Silva, along with his wife, Jill, who also works in higher education finance, and their three sons, Tiago, Mateo, and Leo, consider themselves a higher education family.
Dr. da Silva will begin his role on February 17th, and we look forward to the contributions he will make to furthering our mission of enhancing enrollment strategies and student success.
