New Student Orientation Questions and Answers
The following are frequently asked questions about Saluqi Orientation.
Orientation is a required program for new students (optional for parents) to help
them prepare for the start of school. We will discuss topics that will help you be
successful in your first year at Southwest. Once you complete Virtual New Student
Orientation your next steps will include making an appointment with your Professional
Academic Advisor and registering for classes.
New student orientation takes most students anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour.
All new freshman or transfer students are required to complete New Student Orientation.
New Student Orientation can be completed virtually on your phone, tablet or computer. To access NSO you will need to log into your My.Southwest Student Portal, and click the NSO Icon.
You will be able to access New Student Orientation in your portal once a copy of your
transcript in received.

Once you complete New Student Orientation, you will be taken to the Student Navigate Page where you will log in and make an appointment with a Professional Academic Advisor.
After you meet with an advisor, you will then be able to register for your classes.
