Student tests positive for COVID-19; Fulton Building closed for sanitation
By Diana Fedinec
The Fulton Building on the Macon Cove Avenue Campus at Southwest Tennessee Community College was closed Sept. 4 – 7, 2020, for deep cleaning and sanitation in accordance with safety guidelines outlined in the Back to Campus Plan.
The building was identified by a student who self-reported testing positive for COVID-19. The student last visited the campus on Sept. 1 and only visited the Fulton Building.
The College performed contact tracing and notified individuals who may have come in contact with the employee. Communications and safety alerts were sent to all students and employees.
All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for COVID-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information will be kept strictly confidential.
Please review the College’s infectious disease policy and stay tuned for updates via email and on the College’s coronavirus website at www.southwest.tn.edu/coronavirus.
