The Bestselling Author of "Diary of a Mad Fat Girl" to Visit Southwest

Southern novelist, Stephanie McAfee, author of the New York Times bestselling novel, Diary of a Mad Fat Girl, will be visiting Southwest Tennessee Community College on February 20.

McAfee self-published Diary of a Mad Fat Girl on Christmas Day in 2010, and a few weeks later listed it on Barnes & Noble's PubIt! and Smashwords. "In March of 2011, it showed up at number 31 on the New York Times Bestseller List in combined print and e-book fiction where it lasted two weeks. That same week, it debuted at number 17 in e-book fiction, and hung on there for twelve weeks," stated McAfee.

A true southern girl, McAfee is a native of Tupelo, MS. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Mississippi and an M.A. in secondary education from the University of Alabama. Her other works include Happily Ever Madder: Misadventures of a Mad Fat Girl, which was released on November 6, 2012 and is the sequel to Dairy of a Mad Fat Girl; and Down & Out in Bugtussle, which is scheduled to be released in July 2013.
