TSBDC Offers Workshops to Help Small Business Owners Develop Free Google Websites

Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at Southwest Tennessee Community College held a press conference recently to officially announce the Memphis Get Your Business Online program in partnership with Google. Memphis Get Your Business Online is an initiative to provide every small business owner in the city with a free website for one year.

Southwest is opening the doors of the Maxine A. Smith Center, located at 8800 Shelby Drive, for business owners who need hands-on assistance in developing their websites. Executive Director of the TSBDC Rory Thomas announced that beginning on December 13 business owners can come to the Maxine A. Smith Center for a Memphis Get Your Business Online workshop. The workshops will continue to be held on the second Friday in each month until May 2014.

Google's goal is to make it fast, easy and free for any small business to have an online presence. Any current or future business owner can visit gybo.com to get started on their free website. Others interested in coming to a workshop can visit gybo.com/tennessee/events to get registered.
