Saluqis Rise to Number 18 in NJCAA Poll

The Southwest men's basketball team moved up two more spots to number 18 in this week's NJCAA Division 1 Poll. The Saluqis, now 17-3 overall, have won 17 of their last 18 games and are in first place in the TCCAA with an 8-1 conference record.
With 12 players averaging at least 10 minutes played per game and six with scoring averages of at least 8.0 points per game, Southwest is a deep and talented squad. Leading the way are sophomore forwards David Burrell (14.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game) and Jimario Rivers (12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game) and sophomore guard Lorenzen Wright Jr. (10.9 points per game).
The Saluqis return to conference play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, against Dyersburg State at the Verties Sails Gymnasium on the College's Union Avenue Campus.
