Southwest Tennessee Community College Offers Tuition-Free Training for In-Demand Careers

Make a New Year’s resolution to further your career by taking advantage of the tuition-free training offered by Southwest Tennessee Community College. Registration is underway, and classes will begin soon.
The programs available include:
- Medical Billing & Coding
- Dental Assisting
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)
- Welding
- Certified Production Technician (CPT)
- Industrial Maintenance
- Medical Device Finishing
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Also offered: HiSet - High School Equivalency Diploma
These programs are offered by Southwest's Workforce and Community Solutions department. While the programs are non-credit, individuals may qualify for Prior Learning Assessment credit at Southwest.
Graduates of the training will receive a completion certificate from the College and have the opportunity to pass the national assessment to gain an industry credential.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Shelby and Fayette counties in Tennessee.
Applicants must attend one of the upcoming information and vetting sessions, all held at a Southwest location:
- Monday, January 22, at 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 24, at 9:00 a.m.
- Thursday, January 25, at 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, January 29, at 9:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, January 31, at 9:00 a.m.
