Mandatory annual Title IX training due Dec. 31
To provide a safe and welcoming campus, Tennessee Board of Regents requires all Southwest employees to complete Title IX training. The deadline to complete this year’s Title IX training is Dec. 31.
The Office of Equity and Compliance, through Catharsis Productions, sent all Southwest
employees an email that provided instructions and a link to the training. The email
will be from Catharsis. To locate the email in your inbox, type Catharsis in your
search function. If you cannot locate the link, email equityandcompliance@southwest.tn.edu.
The annual Title IX training is a part of Southwest’s ongoing efforts to assure higher
levels of compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Title IX of the Education
Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on
the basis of sex in any education program or activity that receives federal funding.
Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment,
rape, and sexual assault.
