Southwest is excited to launch our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Success Starts Here, this fall!

Success Starts Here is a college-wide, student-centered initiative help students overcome academic challenges and increase access to resources contributing to student success. Students will learn how to master notetaking skills, time management, test prep/study skills, and communication skills. They can expect class visits from the Academic Support Center, Success Coaches, and Peer Mentors.

At the end of the fall semester, students will be invited to participate in student focus groups and complete a QEP survey to provide their feedback on the QEP. Participating faculty also will have the opportunity to join a focus group to provide feedback.

Success Starts Here focus groups, and the survey will be instrumental to understand how the project is going and how we can work to better support our students and faculty,” said Raquel Adams, QEP director. “Southwest is committed to continuous improvement of our programs, student learning, and student success and that’s what Success Starts Here is all about.”

QEP is a required element for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is responsible for the accreditation of 742 degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
