TECTA: Orientation
The Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) orientation sessions offer 30 hours of training in each of five specialty areas. The Orientations are fun workshop-style trainings that cover the basics of caring for children in a group setting. The orientation sessions are approved as training for Department of Human Services (DHS) continuing education hours and are a part of the star rating report card. The five specialty areas are:
- Infant/toddler care (for teachers of children ages birth–3)
- Center-based care (for teachers of children ages 3-5)
- Family child care (for providers who provide child care in their home)
- School age care (for providers who work with school age children after school)
- Child care administration (child care/early childhood managers and directors)
