Counseling Services - How to Make an Appointment
Students may contact the Social Service Coordinator for assistance with counseling services via email at kweddington@southwest.tn.edu to set up an appointment. Counseling sessions typically last 45 minutes.
Missed Appointment Policy
Due to the high volume of students currently being serviced by the Department of Counseling and Social Services, students should arrive on-time for their scheduled appointment to ensure they receive the best service possible. We understand that there might be times when you must reschedule your appointment. If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us by office phone or email.
Students who miss two scheduled appointments without notifying kweddington@southwest.tn.eduin advance will not be seen for the duration of the semester.
What to Expect at your First Appointment
During your first appointment, we will assist you in completing intake paperwork that will provide you with insight on what to expect, as well as help the mental health counselor assess your concerns. Together, you and the mental health counselor will discuss treatment goals and ways to best service you.
