Financial Aid Priority Deadlines
College Deadline
Students must submit all documents by the priority deadline date in order to guarantee that their files will be processed and awarded for the following semester.
The 2024-2025 financial aid priority dates are listed below.
- Fall 2024: July 1, 2024
- Spring 2025: December 1, 2024
- Summer 2025: May 1, 2025
Southwest Tennessee Community College Federal School Code is 010439. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at https://studentaid.gov/ This is the fastest and easiest way to apply for financial aid. Remember missing the priority deadline may delay your financial aid award.
Federal Deadline
FAFSA Online applications for the 2024-2025 aid year must be submitted by midnight Central Standard Time (CST), June 30, 2025.
State Deadline
Tennessee State Assistance Award (TSAA)
Prior-year recipients receive award, if eligible and complete the FAFSA for the 2024-2025 Aid year only: May 15, 2024. All other awards are made to the neediest applicants until funds are depleted.
Tennessee Promise (TN Promise)
Complete the FAFSA for the 2024-2025 Aid year only: May 15, 2024.
Deadline Extended
Tennessee Reconnect (TN Reconnect)
Complete the FAFSA by September 1 to be eligible for the Fall semester. For the 2024-2025 Aid year only: by May 15, 2024, to be eligible for the Spring and Summer semesters.
Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) Program
Complete the FAFSA for Fall term by September 1, 2024 midnight, Central Standard Time (CST); Spring & Summer terms: For the 2024-2025 Aid year only by May 15, 2024 midnight, Central Standard Time (CST).

Please Note: For students who are eligible for state aid, Southwest's school code (010439) must be the first school listed on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can transfer your award to Southwest, which is an eligible postsecondary institution, by following the directions at Adding Southwest to Your FAFSA for TSAC Payments.
