CAREER SERVICES CORNER: Juan Bell continues internship at Le Bonheur
Congratulations to Southwest alum Juan Bell who was hired as a biomedical intern at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital last fall and after a successful semester, continues the internship this spring.
Bell received her Associate of Applied Science in computer information technology last spring. Once she completes the hospital’s requisite one-year internship, she will be eligible for the Biomedical Technician 1 position at the hospital.

Some of Bell’s duties as a biomedical intern include:“It’s exciting to be here at such a prestigious hospital,” said Bell. “This internship has helped me learn how to operate different equipment and improve my people skills as they pertain to working with others.”
- Performing operational and safety testing
- Inspection and minor repairs of medical equipment
- Troubleshooting
- Maintaining inventories
- Communicating with others
According to Southwest Career Services Intern Coordinator Cortney Ward, “Juan Bell represents the College very well and we wish her success in the future!”
