FACULTY KUDOS: Dr. Eddie Baker appointed chair of business and technologies department
Congratulations to Dr. Eddie Baker on his appointment as Business and Legal Studies chair July 1, 2020.
Dr. Baker brings with him ten years of experience as a full-time faculty member in the Business and Legal Studies department and has served as its interim chair since March 1, 2019. He has an expansive record of engagement on numerous Southwest and statewide committees, including serving as the program coordinator for the criminal Justice program and as vice-president and parliamentarian on the faculty senate. He has implemented several college-wide initiatives and projects and in 2019, was awarded the Farris Faculty of the Year Award.
Dr. Baker is a native of Cordova, Tennessee. Over the years, he has earned a number of degrees that include: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville; MBA from the University of Memphis; Juris Doctorate with high honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law; and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. Dr. Baker also completed graduate hours in Criminal Justice from the University of Memphis and Arizona State University.
