FACULTY KUDOS: Cisco Networking Academy recognizes Brenda Phillips and Forrest Smith as top level instructors
Congratulations to assistant professors Brenda Phillips and Forrest Smith on their selection as top level instructors by Cisco Networking Academy. The global IT networking academy deemed them stellar instructors for their teaching par excellence.
Phillips received the academy’s Expert Level Instructor status, a designation bestowed on faculty who completed professional development and represent the top 10 percent of instructors globally in student feedback and performance. Smith received Advanced Level Instructor status, which recognizes him as being among the top 25 percent of instructors globally.
“Brenda has exceeded the hallmarks of providing computer information technology instruction to our students through the Cisco Networking Academy,” Technologies Department Chair Dr. Aaron Jagers said. “She has tirelessly worked hard to achieve this outstanding credential. She is a great steward to the institution, her students, and the community.”
Computer Engineering Technology Program Director Janet Sykes says she is not surprised by Smith’s recognition. “I am continually impressed by his dedication to students, the way he connects with people and his commitment to teaching excellence,” she said. “It is nice to have tangible proof of what we already know about Forrest. And the students are to be commended for their strong level of performance and dedication to learning,” Sykes added.
The Cisco Networking Academy is comprised of courses and training designed to prepare students for Cisco certifications, credentials that are highly valued by employers and relevant to many industries.
Congratulations, professors Phillips and Smith!
