Four Lady Saluqi softball players join ‘100-Hit Club’

Saluqi

In the 23-year history of the Southwest softball program, only 21 players have compiled at least 100 hits in their career. This season, four Lady Saluqi sophomores have reached the milestone, becoming only the second time that four players from one class have done this.

The first Lady Saluqi to reach 100 career hits was first baseman Mandie Barrow, followed by leftfielder Mariah Morgan, shortstop Lauren Pettie, and right fielder/pitcher Maleyia Prather.

Two more players are also in the range - centerfielder Maddyx McNatt and pitcher/second baseman Jenifer Diehl.  In addition, Barrow, Morgan and Pettie (all with 124 hits) also have a chance to break Southwest's career hits record of 140, held by Alex Turner who played for the Lady Saluqis during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
