By Victoria Brown
Southwest Tennessee Community College students have elected new student leaders for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Elections were held online for Student Government Association (SGA) and Campus Activity Board (CAB) officers April 10-11, 2024. The newly elected officers are listed below.
Nacaria Royal, the new SGA president, is planning to pursue a second degree in nursing at Southwest once she completes her associate of science degree in general studies.
"Being elected as the SGA president is both a humbling honor and a tremendous privilege,” Royal said. “It's a responsibility that fills me with a sense of purpose and a deep commitment to serve, inspire, and empower our school community towards positive change and a brighter future.”
India Dennis, a biology major at Southwest, was elected as vice president of CAB. Dennis plans to continue working as a medical assistant and physical therapist in Dallas, TX after she completes her biology program.
"Being elected as the Southwest Community College's vice president of the Cab Club is a significant accomplishment,” Dennis said. “Remember, never give up on your aspirations, and prioritize God above all else."
