Project M.O.S.T. held its 11th annual Men in Black awards ceremony Feb. 17, 2023, in a virtual ceremony that bestowed awards to 32 of its members who were recognized for their academic achievements and community service.
Project M.O.S.T is grant-funded through the U.S. Department of Education's Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI) initiative and is designed to help first-year African-American male students adjust to the college environment and aid in retention and graduation efforts.
The keynote speaker for the event was Memphis native Roby Williams, owner of Specific Speaking Solutions. Williams has over 50 years of successful experience in helping others build their careers and realize their dreams as business owners and innovators. His career history spans the banking industry, sales, broadcast advertising and television advertising.
“Leadership is knowing what to do next, why it is important, and when to bring the appropriate resources to achieve success,” Williams said. “We must mentor our young men and create unity within our communities for society to move forward.”
